German Expressionism
German Expression was a modernist movement that emerged during the mid-1900s in Dresden and Munich, initially in poetry and painting. Artists sought to express meaning, shows emotional or spiritual view of world. Unlike Impressionists, who sought merely to imitate nature, German expressionist painters typically distorted color, scaled and space to convey their subjective feelings about what they saw.
